Singapore!

I've always loved Singapore.  It's an amazingly modern and clean city that's sometimes more western than America.  When you're in Singapore, you kind of forget that you're in Asia ... until of course, you see all the Asians walking around and get a whiff of the delicious food this country offers!

We flew to Singapore on Halloween so it was important that Zoe dress up in a costume.  Who cares if no one understood why she was dressed like Minnie Mouse ... at least we still tried to celebrate it even though we were thousands of miles away from home.  The flight was a short one (I think less than 2 hours) and Oma Lisa was at the airport waiting to take us to our beautiful hotel on Singapore's famous Orchard Road.

We did a lot of eating (as usual) and a lot of shopping (well, at least Mike did ... thanks to Uniqlo!).  It was also Zoe's first time meeting her great Oma Sati -- they hit it off instantly and it was so cute to see the two of them interact.  Zoe always has such a soft spot for the elderly ... it's like she knows they are delicate and should be treated with care =).  We enjoyed chicken rice, noodle soup galore, chili crab and even durian pancakes (Zoe was brave enough to try some, too!).  We also got to visit Marina Bay Sands, the new casino and hotel that boasts the world's longest infinity pool.  The hotel's architecture was amazing!  We also had a chance to visit the new botanical gardens, Gardens by the Bay.  Again, super amazing!  Those Singaporians know what they're doing!!!

Zoe had so much fun exploring the city and spending time with us and Oma Lisa.  Unfortunately, we had to say goodbye to Uncle Francis as this was the end of his two week trip.  Zoe got quite attached to Francis (and vice versa) so I know she's going to be looking for him while we're in Jakarta and the Philippines!

PS: Zoe FINALLY got over her jetlag!  I guess it's true that it takes about 5-7 days for babies/toddlers to adjust to the time change =)

Oma Lisa was READY with chocolate for Zoe
(we let her have it since it was, in fact, Halloween!)
