Well ... it was bound to happen ...
I finally got an Iphone. Goodbye Blackberry =(. Mike upgraded to an Iphone 5, which meant I was the lucky recipient of his Iphone 4S. I've been preparing for this for a while now ... I've been practicing with the Ipad and the Itouch and I think I'm semi getting a hang of the typing thing (although I still find typing on a blackberry way easier). I'm actually really loving all the apps that I have available to me. I spent a lot of time just browsing the app store and trying out different apps -- everything from organization tools, to faith-filled apps to games for Zoe (of course).
Another rare thing that happened this weekend was that we stayed home! It was Carmegeddon 2 (closing of the 405 freeway for the weekend) so we didn't want to get stuck in any kind of traffic. Instead, we vegged out at home on Saturday ... went to the AT&T store, shopped for Zoe's shoes and Mike even got himself a shot gun -- you know, just a normal Saturday hahahhaa. On Sunday, we drove down to Woodland Hills to spend time with Lala and Lolo ... and also to get some laundry done. The door to our washing machine decided to break on us and it would cost $300+ to get it fixed. So we are probably going to get a new one instead for around $400.
Anyway, it was a nice, local weekend for the family. Looking forward to breaking our routine of always being on the go more often!
PS: As a result of me having an Iphone, I bought a bunch of stuff on Macy's online site!!! Online shopping on an iphone is so dangerously easy ... YIKES!

Jeric's 20th Birthday!
Jeric is officially out of his teen years!!! It's hard to believe he's a 20-year-old man now, but he most definitely is!! Since his birthday fell on a Tuesday, we decided to just have dinner at Umami Burger in Thousand Oaks so Jay could join us after he got off from work. Food was good as always, but as an added surprise, when the waiter came around with the bill, he said, "Oh, it's already been taken care of!" Jeric actually treated us for dinner!!! We were all kind of shocked, but very proud at the same time. It was a true sign that he was, indeed, grown up =). We all regretted not ordering dessert and told him he should treat us more often since it felt pretty good ... hahahaha!
After dinner, we all went to play at the playground with Zoe. She loved running around, jumping back and forth between the swing, the slide and the seahorse thing. It was fun doing the park thing at night -- especially since we had the playground all to ourselves!
As we were walking back to the car, Jay suggested we get Jeric a "motherload" slice from the nearby Claim Jumpers so that he could at least have some "birthday cake". Mike (the chocolate cake fiend) totally agreed and we ended up eating cake on the benches by the playground. It was kind of a different celebration (since mom and everyone else couldn't be there) but it was still a nice one. Jeric is really growing up to be a great guy. He's caring, smart, a brilliant writer, a sweet boyfriend and an even better uncle. All those years of me and Jay saying "You owe us big time" for all the time and effort we put into raising him is certainly being paid off. I love seeing him with Zoe and interacting ... he is totally teaching her to use her imagination, be creative, and to love herself. She definitely loves him, too ... even though she thinks he's her older brother =). God has really blessed us with the opportunity to have him live with us while he works part-time for Mike and goes to school. I'm glad I can be a part of his life in the way that I am and I am so excited to see what else God has in store for him!
Happy 20th Jeric! We love you!

Liz's baby shower
Our friends Lisette and Steven threw a great baby shower today for Liz and Nelson. Aside from a shower, it was also another CCC play date =). It's always great to get together with our kids and today, it was nice to celebrate Liz and Nelson and their soon-to-be new addition to their already beautiful family. It was so fun to see all the cute and frilly girl clothes little Kaelyn got!! Liz admitted she wasn't used to all the pinks and ruffles and that all she knows are collars and pants =) -- boy is she in for a treat with a baby girl!!!
Mike and I are so excited to meet little Kaelyn. We know Grayson's going to make a wonderful big brother and I can't to see the two of them playing together and forming an amazing sibling bond =)
