Visiting the seminary and Ninang day

This has been such a fun week!! Today, we got a special visit from Ninang Tasha and Mike Mesa!  Tasha decided to take a "staycation" week from work and Mike was just his usual awesome self and decided to come hang out with us.  Since it was recently Tasha's birthday, Mike and I decided to take her to lunch at Olio Pizzeria in Santa Barbara.  They have the most amazing black truffle pizza there and Tasha is a fan of all things truffle =).

After a filling lunch, we went back to the house to play.  Zoe ended up getting pretty close to Mike, or, My-toots as she calls him.  They were having fun running around the house and riding her bike.  Later that evening, we got the chance to visit Egren and Nick at the seminary!  It was me and Mike's first time there and we were blown away with how beautiful it was!  We attended their evening vespers and mass and it was so nice to see so many bright young men who've all made the brave decision to drop everything and follow God.  I was really touched to see them in their "element" and I could literally feel God working through each and every one of them.  After the mass, a lot of the seminarians and priests went to greet us and thank us for visiting them ... they said it was soooo nice to see "other people" there and especially to have a toddler running around =).  Egren gave us a tour of the vast grounds and it was nice to see where Monsignor Kevin and Fr. Francis went to school.

Since it was the first Thursday of the month, we invited them to join us for the Food Truck Festival in downtown Oxnard.  They LOVED all the trucks and vowed to come back every month =) ... we brought the food back to our house so we'd be more comfortable and the evening lasted until almost midnight.  It was fun spending time with our friends in Christ today.  It's just a constant reminder of how truly blessed we are to have such amazing people in our lives ...

Tickle fest!
