My little 5 year old ...

Lately Zoe has been acting and looking more like a 5-year-old, rather than a 15-month-old.  She's getting more and more mature and is becoming pretty interested in TV shows on Nick Jr.  Aside from Dora, her current obsession is The Fresh Beat Band.  She LOVES watching their show and dancing to their songs.  She even tries to sing a long!!!  She's so fascinated by them that I started DVR'ing the show so that I can play them for her while I'm trying to cook (clever, I know).  She's also starting to get interested in what's inside the kitchen cabinets.  I allow her to go through just one of them -- the one where I put all her tupperware, sippy cups, etc.  She goes through the cabinet several times a day and seems to be enjoying all the "baby" stuff that's in them.

I've been taking pictures of her this week with my phone and I can't believe how big and mature she looks in them!!!  The past couple of days, Mike's been observing her and says, "She's officially a toddler now, huh?"  He says it with a bit of sadness.  I just respond (with equal sadness), "yeah, I guess so." I still have the same mixed feelings I had when she was a baby baby ... when I was conflicted with feeling happy for her growth and progress and a bit sad that it was all happening so fast.  I guess that conflict never really goes away ...

For now, check out these recent pics of my 5-year-old:

Lately, Zoe has been wanting to sleep with both Bubba and her "baby" Minnie

Her crib is getting pretty crowded ...

Zoe sandwich!

I had to buy her new "house clothes" since she seemed to have grown just this past week.
When I put her new t-shirt and shorts on, she was instantly ready for kindergarten =(
She was annoyed with me in this shot because I kept telling her to
smile for the camera while she was watching Dora

Here she is -- my little explorer =)
