Christmas at the Sudjati's ...

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas ...

We finally got our Christmas tree the other day (a fake one) and today, me and Zoe put it together and hung some ornaments.  Next thing on the Christmas-to-do list is to put up some lights outside.  Mike and I have never put up lights before (we've always lived in a condo) so it should be interesting.  Some of the houses in our neighborhood are pretty fancy with their lights.  I think we're just going to keep it simple -- white lights.  I've always liked the look of all white lights ... also, I didn't get too crazy with buying too many decorations for the house.  Not sure yet where we'll be next Christmas so I don't want to get too much stuff and not know where to store them later.  Besides, Zoe didn't seem to mind that all we had was a Christmas tree =) ...

Even though this is Zoe's first Christmas, I'm almost certain she doesn't really know what's going on quite yet.  Yes she lights up when she sees a Christmas tree, but mostly because she sees all the delicious ornaments she can stuff in her mouth =).  I can't wait to really share Christmas with her ... growing up, Christmas was such a special time of the year for my family.  It was always a time full of an extra helping of love ... we all made an effort to make each day leading up to Christmas as happy and warm as possible.  While I hope to share some of my childhood traditions with Zoe, I'm also very much looking forward to creating new Christmas traditions with her.  Christmas and family go hand in hand and as our family grows, I can't wait to write our own version(s) of Christmas!
