Grayson's birthday had an "adventure" theme -- everything was soooo cute! There was a lot of Curious George trimmings and balloons that sort of looked like whimsical hot air balloons. In lieu of gifts they asked their guests to give Grayson a special keepsake that he can use/bring on all his future adventures (how cute, right?!). Elizabeth and Nelson (Grayson's mom and dad) transformed their living room to an indoor playground full of toys ... it was so fun to see all the little babies playing with each other and with the toys. Another highlight was all the singing! Liz is an opera singer so there was no doubt that music would be a part of Grayson's birthday. She re-wrote the lyrics to "You Are My Sunshine" and also had the kids (and parents) singing along to "The Wheels on the Bus", "This Old Man", "Caterpillar Caterpillar", etc. etc. It was like a mommy and me session! Zoe, of course, LOVED it all. She especially loved the "all-you-can-eat" snack bar for the toddlers (mum mums, apple sauce, etc). Mike and I had so much fun watching her hang out with kids (she doesn't get to hang with kids her age very often). It was also great to see Grayson on his special day -- thank you Lord for blessing him and his family this past year! They are such a great family -- and a Christ-centered one, at that. I know we plan to have them in our lives for a very long time (forever?) ... Zoe and Grayson will hopefully get to grow up together ...
