Play date at Treehouse Social Club

Today Zoe and I took a little field trip to LA ... yes, we're in LA almost every weekend, but this time, it was just me and Zoe and we made the one hour trek mid-week to mix a little bit of business with pleasure at the Treehouse Social Club.  Me and Mike, along with some good friends of ours from CCC Elizabeth and Nelson, are thinking about possibly starting up a business that catered to both adults and their kids.  As part of our research, Liz and I are going to a bunch of existing indoor playgrounds to get an idea of the set up, logistics, etc. etc.  I think Zoe and Grayson are the ones benefiting from all our "research" but it's still great to be able to see these places in person (as opposed to just on the internet) and it's also a great opportunity to hang out with awesome friends.

Today's research date was at Treehouse Social Club -- a swanky indoor playground with a cafe located near Beverly Hills.  Zoe did great on both the car ride there and back to Oxnard (slept all the way both times! Woot!).  Although I wasn't too used to driving that far of a distance all by myself, it was kind of nice to be out and about on a weekday.  It almost felt like I was on my way to "work" =) ... the kids had a great time (both with all the toys to play with and with the food they got to eat).  For research purposes I ordered Zoe her first ever kids meal.  I ordered her mac'n'cheese with steamed broccoli and fresh fruit while I ordered a turkey and brie with sweet potato fries (again, for research purposes =) ... ).

Overall, it was a great and productive day.  I felt like we got a good idea about what we may want to do with our possible business and think we're on the right track.  We're going to be checking out other places as well but I think it was a good start to at least get things moving along.

Here's some pics of our adventure:

Horsey horsey!
Lunch date!

Zoe tried ketchup for the first time w/ her sweet potato fries!
