Last night, Mike and I double-dated with Kat and Wyatt. They were "bugless" since Kat's parents insisted on an overnight with Ella Bug so Kat asked if we wanted to hang out.
We decided on a dinner and a movie date ... Dinner was as Yard House in Pasadena and the movie we chose to see was "End of Watch". Both dinner the movie were awesome - it's always nice to be able to enjoy just eating and drinking without having to worry about getting enough food into a toddler :).
The movie was crazy good - it documented the experiences of two LAPD officers in South Central. It was incredibly gut wrenching and gritty ... My heart was both heavy and racing the entire time and I loved all two hours of the movie. It was so intense and it made me so thankful that we at blessed to be able to live in an environment that isn't so deeply entrenched in violence, hopelessness and fear. I certainly have more respect for cops , that's for sure! On a side note: Zoe and Ella will NEVER become cops!
Thank you God for the gift of great friends and wonderful evenings like tonight!!
PS: I was surprised to find Zoe actually asleep when we got home around 10:15pm! Mom said Zoe was the one who initiated "night night" by lying down on the bed and pulling the covers over her so mom just let her be and Zoe knocked out! Either Zoe is growing out of her "mama needs to be there in order for me to sleep" phase or she was just dead tired from a busy day! We shall see!
