Our 31st birthday was spent pretty quietly ... just a nice lunch after mass at Panda Inn with the family. The highlight of the day was Jeric's gifts to me and Jay. He said now that we are both living in our own homes, he wanted to make sure we had something that reminded us of our home that we grew up in -- Christmas ornaments. Christmas is sacred in my family and growing up, we always always looked forward to decorating the house, putting up the tree, the lights and wrapping all the gifts. We've had the same ornaments for as long as Jeric has been alive so it was fitting that he chose those as little pieces to remind us of home. He chose a capiz star ornament for Jay and a porcelain angel for me. Of course, he wrote something amazing for both explaining why he had chosen that particular thing for us. And of course, I was in tears. He is so extremely talented with his words and I wouldn't trade what he wrote and gave me for any other materialistic gift out there. Here's what he wrote for me:
