After mass today we finally got to meet little Phoebe! She is soooo cute! Her cheeks are killer! As I held her in my arms I was immediately brought back to Zoe's first few days of life and how tiny and delicate she was. I know Dan and Dennis' life is going to be a bit chaotic for a few weeks (until they all get a routine going) but I know once they look at Phoebe's tiny little face it will all be worth it. The beginning stage is always the hardest but soon, parents and baby will figure it all out. Thank you Lord for blessing my friends with such a miracle!! Their lives are forever changed in the most beautiful way!
We didn't stay too long since I also remember how tired I was when we finally got to go home from the hospital and all I wanted to do was have a few moments of alone time with my family to figure things out. We just dropped off some food my mom cooked (arroz caldo, okoy and beef steak) and stayed for 20 minutes and was on our way. I know I'll get to spend more time with Phoebs soon =) ... until then, I'll be praying everyday for her and for her parents so that this time of transition will go as smoothly as it can go =)
Later that day, we had our monthly CCC meeting. The topic that the host couple chose was the importance of romance. It was a great discussion and it was, as always, a wonderful evening with amazing and inspiring couples. We had two new couples join our group as well and we look forward to getting to know them better through our awesome little group. We already warned them about the fertility thing =) ... Michael and I continued our discussion on the way home to Oxnard and we had a great conversation about what we can do to keep romance in our relationship. It's not the easiest thing to do with a baby, but it's absolutely necessary.
As we were unpacking and getting ready for bed, I brought Zoe into our room so she could say goodnight to daddy. She usually gives him a kiss and a hug and then goes to her crib, but tonight, she snuggled up next to him and started pretending to be asleep. I knew she was pretending because she kept giggling while her eyes were closed. It was soooo cute! So cute, in face, that daddy gave in and said, "Ok ... she can stay in our bed tonight". When Zoe heard this, she opened her eyes and crawled up to his chest to give him a big hug. What a clever little girl!!! Somewhere between there and when I came back to the room 5 minutes later, I saw her sleeping on his chest -- she had actually fallen asleep as she was trying to crawl over him (she never falls asleep like this) ... Mike, too, was sleeping ... it was the cutest thing and I couldn't help but take a picture of daddy and daughter =) ... Thank you Lord for my beautiful family!!!
