Every morning, Zoe wakes up around 7 or 7:30 am. I take her out of her crib, change her diaper, give her a bottle, bring her into bed with me and after about 30-45 minutes, she usually goes right back to sleep (her nap goes anywhere from 45 minutes - 2.5 hours if she's going through a growth spurt). It figures that a chronic snoozer like me would produce a snoozing child =). This actually works out great for me because I can also "sleep in" ... not that I'm actually sleeping again (not all the time, anyway) but it gives me a chance to read a book or do little things around the room (I don't watch tv though ... I don't really watch much tv during the day ... I'm not a "couch potato housewife"!). Today, Zoe fell asleep within 20 minutes of her bottle (this usually means she's going through a growth spurt and just wants to sleep sleep sleep) and she ended up taking a 2 hour nap. BONUS!!!! I used the "bonus time" to read a book my friends Dan and Dennis let me borrow "Hunger Games". It's soooooo good!!! I kept hoping Zoe wouldn't wake up yet and good thing she decided to take a 2 hour nap today ... besides, it was a cold morning and it was nice and toasty in our bed =). I must say, aside from being able to spend all day with Zoe, being able to sleep in or not have to race the clock to get dressed and to brave the freeway and make it on time to work is AWESOME. I also love that even if Zoe doesn't go back to sleep right away, she's perfectly fine just laying down and snuggling with mommy ... don't know too many babies that just like to snuggle, but my child is most definitely a snuggler (too bad this makes it extra hard for Mike to leave for work in the morning). *Sigh* ... snuggling with her is like a little piece of heaven on Earth!
Here's some pics I took of my phone while she was sleeping ... she looked so angelic and peaceful that I couldn't resist (she also likes to sleep with both arms up ... a trait she got from both mommy and daddy)
Later in the afternoon, we took a walk to a nearby park. Zoe hasn't had a lot of opportunities to go on a swing and since today was such a nice day, I figured we'd do something special. We have a park right across the street from our house, but there's no baby swings there. There's only one park a few blocks away that has them and we don't really venture there as often as we should. So today, I told her she'd get to have some fun outside (we're always cooped up indoors) ... Needless to say, Zoe LOVED swinging! When I took her there a few months ago, she was still a little bit scared, but now, it seems she's more adventurous and really enjoyed herself!
Here's some pics:
I LOVE these shades on her!! Bryan got them for her because they look like a mini-version of mine =)
She looks like a cute little old lady on a swing =)
"Higher mommy!!!"
Wheeeeeeeeee!
This is the life!
Of course I also took video ... people with Vertigo, watch at your own risk!
