Toys that aren't toys

Zoe was playing with her toys earlier today and I started laughing ... I realized that her favorite toys really weren't toys at all ... it's funny how parents spend tons of money buying their kids all kinds of toys and the kids end up gravitating towards the "normal" "everyday" stuff you have lying around the house.  Good thing we haven't really bought anything toy-wise for Zoe ... most of her "real" toys are gifts or hand-me-downs.

Here's a funny inventory of Zoe's favorite toys that aren't really toys at all ...

Long piece of plastic torn off from a zip-lock style bag of frozen chicken

Socks.  For some reason, Zoe loves taking off her socks and chewing on them (she's been known to chew on daddy's socks, too)

A shiny bag of cough drops inside a ziplock bag (this was her favorite for a while ... she would just chew on it and make the crinkling sound)

Empty containers of her puffs and a plastic tub we got from the .99 cent store for Halloween candy

A plastic tray from Ikea and a half full bottle of water

Butter boy!

Small snaplock plastic containers

Silicone baking cups

Empty plastic tubs once filled with delicious treats from our beloved Costco

Remote controls ... all of them

My blackberry and her Itzbeen

This is my latest creation for her -- an empty wipes container with a strap trapped inside!  This is Zoe's current fave =)

See??? Who needs expensive toys when you have your imagination!  All I know is despite the above "toys", Zoe is the happiest baby ever =)!
